Zenon Dance Company's The Nutcracker According to Mother Goose

For a fun holiday show that the little ones can enjoy—with plenty of entertainment for adults as well—consider checking out Zenon Dance Company's annual production of The Nutcracker According to Mother Goose. The concept for the show, which the group has been performing each year since 2007, involves setting stories from Mother Goose rhymes to the music of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. For four shows only, Zenon's nimble dancers will bring the classic ballet to life with their own modern, jazzy twist featuring characters like Wee Willie Winkie, Mary Quite Contrary, Little Bo Peep, and Jack Be Nimble. This will be the first time that the production is performed at Zenon's new home at the Cowles, which, judging from last month's Fall Dance Concert, seems to be a perfect fit. The playful romp is choreographed by Sean Curran. (Photo by William Cameron)
