More About

Storyteller Kevin Kling and longtime actor and musician Steven Kramer will team up for the first time this holiday season for Of Mirth and Mischief, a look back at their own fractured youthful Christmases. Kling is no stranger to exploring the season, as he's crafted stage shows and dedicated portions of his books to his distinctly Midwestern memories. Kramer, whose past includes a turn in Sir Tyrone Guthrie's first show in Minneapolis, and as the leaders of experimental pop artists the Wallets, matches Kling with his own memories. The piece looks at the season through the eyes of a four-year-old child on an extended hospital stay in the early 1960s. As he befriends the other children in the hospital, a fantastical world is built, leaving our boy with feet in both realms. The story comes to life via Kling's writing and Kramer's music, which will be performed by Haley Bonar and James Diers of Halloween, Alaska. Theatre Latté Da's Peter Rothstein directs.
