More About

While "Dreams and Effigies" can be described as a spiritual exhibition, it appears to be free of any references to the holiday season. Instead, the gallery show will explore the power of dreams and totems. In her Peace Predator series, artist Ellen Skoro examines the mythology and meaning attributed to various animals though the juxtaposition of different beasts in her collages. In Camille J. Gage's black-and-white installation, The Chamber of Dreams and Light, the artist contemplates the meaning of dreams and the cycle of life through the lens of Taoist principles. According to her, the piece was inspired by a dream she had over 10 years ago, where a buck led her through a forest into the subconscious realm. Guests are invited to record their own dreams in the artist's handmade journal, The Book of the Night. There will be an artists' reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, December 17, and Gage will lead a winter solstice yoga and meditation event at 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 21. (Camille J.
