SHOW + TELL: MCAD MFA Open Studio Night

For folks living in the Twin Cities, opportunities frequently arise to view and purchase pieces directly from artists. Infrequent, however, are occasions where people can take a peek behind a work to see the actual process, from early muses to final creation. For one night only, MCAD MFA students will open their Whittier studios to the public, inviting friends and strangers alike to gaze upon their creative spaces. Students at the school, which has been cultivating young artistic minds for the past 125 years, represent a wide range of artistic fields, including painting, drawing, animation, illustration, multimedia, printmaking, installation, graphic design, and comic arts. This evening, they will be present to discuss their work, and some will even be selling completed pieces. In addition to open-studio spaces, there will be an interactive musical performance by artists John Keston and Bryan Clandenen at 8 p.m. Everyone, from supporters of local art to prospective MFA students, is invited to attend.
