Larry Watson

Last month, author Larry Watson saw the release of his latest work, American Boy (Milkweed Editions). The story opens with the shooting of Louisa Lindahl in 1960s Minnesota. The main character, Matthew Garth, finds himself drawn to the crime, and soon falls into a world of heartbreak and manipulation. Like many of his novels, the story is brimming with big moral questions and difficult decisions. Watson has already been a successful talent for Milkweed, as it awarded his previous bestselling work Montana 1948 with its Milkweed National Fiction Prize. Watson has published six other novels, along with a poetry chapbook and a fiction collection. Movie rights have been sold for two of his novels (Montana 1948 and Justice). The author has been a visiting professor at Marquette University since 2003.
