Joe DeRosa has many pursuits, including music, podcasting, and film. That last one, along with standup, consumes most of his time these days. Earlier this year, he made his directorial debut with the film Shooting Angles, starring his comedy pals Bill Burr, Robert Kelly, and Colin Quinn. With Burr he also co-hosts The Uninformed podcast, a show he enjoys doing because it gives him a different platform for his comedy. "There are some elements of my standup that are different as far as what we talk about on the podcast," he says. "But I take some of the same attitudes towards things. The thing that makes the podcast work is who Bill and I are as people; being opinionated guys, and guys that like to talk about and judge other people, while being equally hard on ourselves. Those ingredients are definitely there in my act." Onstage, he's more likely to talk about things that have happened in his own life. "That's what interests me the most—when something completely ridiculous happens and it's worth talking about," he adds. "I just like to talk about the stuff I don't get to talk about in regular life, or the opportunity to really vent, complain, or tell a ridiculous story." 18+; 21+ later shows.
