Jerry Seinfeld's latest project, like so many of his iconic jokes, succeeds because of its elegant simplicity. The online venture JerrySeinfeld.com is an archive of standup performances and talk-show appearances taken from over three decades of his career, most of it spent at the zenith of the comedy business. The material ranges from a youthful, pre-sitcom Seinfeld honing his deceptively breezy, conversational didjaevernotice style to contemporary videos of new bits being worked out onstage at New York comedy clubs. It's an astounding cache of work, available only three clips at a time and updated daily. The takeaway message of the site is that Seinfeld, one of the true Zen masters of comedy, never stops writing, working, and evolving, which is why after 30 years, innumerable TV spots, and nine seasons of one of the few revolutionary sitcoms, he's still able to surprise and delight. Seinfeld has been at the top of his game for so long, his brilliance is a given, but see him live performing yet another new hour of material and you can't help but be impressed all over again.
