If women had the capability to change our looks to match ideals represented in pop culture, what would we end up looking like? Barbie? Donna Reed? Courtney Stodden? For "Beauty School Drop Outs," 15 female artists were invited to explore how cultural standards and expectations of beauty and femininity impact them, and what happens when individuals step outside of cultural norms. Curator Louisa Greenstock has invited local Cult Sisters artists including Erin Sayer and Kara Hendershot to exhibit, as well as talented folks from Great Britain, Argentina, and across the U.S. Expect a variety of works that cover the wide scope of human (and female) experiences, with pieces ranging from playful to angry, and messages both overt and subtle. There will be an artists' reception with music from DJ Citizen from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, November 12. (Louisa Greenstock,Jonbenet Ramsey)
