More About

Last spring marked the closing of Tarnish&Gold Gallery's old space on Marshall Street in northeast Minneapolis. Its exhibitions there had explored varied topics including the art of conflict, eating disorders, and graffiti/street art. Debuting this week in its brand-new location in the Foundry Building will be "Come Together," a show featuring the work of Mike Carney. Through his sculptures, installations, clay works, paintings, and mixed-media pieces the artist will examine the give-and-take nature of life and death. Expect a bit of a playful Dia de los Muertos vibe. The opening reception, which runs from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, November 4, will also celebrate the building's new outdoor mural by Scott Ray.
