While many bars and nightclubs are hosting parties this weekend, First Avenue is sticking to the actual Halloween date for its annual spooky shindig. The Mainroom will feature sets from DJ Soviet Panda, Jake Rudh, DJ Smitty, and Roy Freedom, while host Ian Rans keeps the energy going between spins. Over in the 7th St. Entry, folks will find Mike the 2600 King and King Otto keeping it old-school with monstrous Halloween hits from the '50s and '60s. Upstairs in the Record Room, DJ Verb X will play jams that will attract zombies, b-boys and girls, and lovers of hip hop, reggae, and R&B. Prizes will be given away throughout the night. Be sure to come in costume; awesome looks from previous years have included Frankenberry Monster, Zoltar the Fortune-Telling Machine from Big, and Tetris game pieces (a group effort, of course). 18+.
