Galleries and studios in St. Paul will be extra busy this weekend with the three-day Saint Paul Art Crawl. During this time, folks will be able to take a self-guided tour featuring over 325 artists. Though the bulk of the event's happenings are in the downtown and Lowertown regions, the crawl will sprawl out to include Harriet Island, plus University, Raymond, and Grand Avenues. Special activities planned include McNally Smith's Sound Crawl featuring Laptopia Laptop Marching Band, hip-hop MCs, the Jack Brass Band, and Art Cars; wine and beer tastings at Lowertown Wine and Spirits; book signings, live music, woodturning, and comic art at the Cosmopolitan; and much more. Looking for some affordable art? The Art Vending Machine will once again return to the Northern Warehouse (behind the Black Dog Café), where art lovers on a tight budget can purchase cigarette-pack-sized art for $5. Are you planning to attend on Saturday night? Be forewarned that the Zombie Pub Crawl will be descending onto the Mears Park area of town that evening, so make sure that you're ready for some undead tomfoolery.
