It was about a year ago today that the Weisman Art Museum closed its doors in order to focus on a $14-million-dollar expansion. The additions include three new gallery spaces dedicated to showcasing more items from the museum's permanent collection, including ceramics, works of American modernism, photography, and prints. A fourth space will host various exhibitions featuring collaborative work from faculty, students, community members, and established artists. This Sunday, folks can see where the money went as the museum will throw a fabulous free party open to all ages. Throughout the day there will be art-related activities for children and adults alike, including T-shirt screen printing and printmaking by Bohemian Press. Gorilla Yogis will hold an architectural yoga session with poses inspired by the building itself, and Rogue Valley will provide tunes. Faculty and artists will also be on hand to talk about the new spaces.
