More About

Tired of waiting in line at the Science Museum with small, unruly children? At Social Science: Fermentational Informational, adults have first dibs. Bring your I.D. and prepare to get schooled on the biochemistry and physiological impacts of beer and wine. There will be hands-on experiments, including vision-impairing goggles and instruction on creating DIY cookie cutters out of empty beer cans. "It's super easy to take what you already have and make really cool things out of it," says Adult Program Coordinator Julia Halpern about the earth-friendly craft. Northern Brewery will share tips on homebrewing and wine making, Trivia Mafia will be on board with brainy shenanigans, and a specialist from the grape-breeding program at the U of M will be your resident sommelier. Wet your whistle with beverage samples from the local companies Brau Brothers and Whitewater Wines, as both are known for yielding sweet berries despite the harsh Minnesota weather. Mississippi Market, French Meadow Cafe, and El Burrito Mercado will provide free bite-size edibles. For more info, visit www.smm.org/socialscience. 21+.
