Guerilla Haiku Movement: Minneapolis

Poetry and sidewalk chalk may go together, but how about poetry and scavenger hunts? These three things will blend into one event for the Twin Cities leg of the Guerilla Haiku Movement. Minneapolis will be the ninth stop on this 10-city tour, which has included Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago. To participate, meet at the Spitting Turtle Fountain. Next, you'll be formed into small groups by event organizers, given a map and a bucket of chalk, and told to venture forth to your assigned area of the city. Your mission will entail covering as much of the neighborhood as possible with haiku-inspired poetry, engaging folks as they pass by. In order to complete scavenger tasks you'll need a digital camera, so be sure to bring one. Afterward, participants will reconvene and then head to a local pub for drinks and sharing of experiences.
