Apparently, we're never going to get tired of doing the "Time Warp" again. Or, at least, that's what Cardinal Theatricals is betting on with its revival of the Richard O'Brien musical that spawned millions of midnight-movie converts. The latest local production (the Ordway presented a solid and entertaining version a few years back) gives us American Idol contestant Paris Bennett and local TV legend Don Shelby (as the Narrator, probably a better choice than as cross-dressing Dr. Frank-N-Furter) as part of a cast of 15 performers and a full rock band. Director Andrew Rasmussen, who crafted last year's local Rent, stages Rocky Horror in a full rock-concert setting, with the action filling the massive Lab Theater space. The cast also features Jamecia Bennett, Randy Schmeling, Reid Harmsen, Eric Capello, Molly Callinan, and Andre Shoals as Frank-N-Furter. This is also a full participation production, with kits available (though no perishables are allowed; sorry, toast fans) and nightly costume contests. And to fit in with the season, there will be a special Halloween schedule at the end of the run.
Wednesdays-Sundays, 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 2 p.m. Starts: Sept. 15. Continues through Oct. 31, 2011
