Sadly, our North Dakota neighbors won't be having a state fair this season due to flooding in Minot. So in honor of this year's event that never was, folks in the Como Avenue Jug Band will be throwing a mini-fair as part of their CD-release party. Outside in the parking lot from 7 to 10 p.m. fair-goers will be invited to enjoy carnival-style games, baking contests, and even a mini-Midway. At 9 p.m. the music will start up, with folksy performances from the Roe Family Singers, the Brian Just Band, the Prairie Fire Lady Choir, and the Como Avenue Jug Band, who will be releasing The Essential Como Avenue Jug Band. If you're already missing the Minnesota State Fair, this is a chance to enjoy some festivities before the season ends.
