More About

Choreographer Bill T. Jones is almost an institution in the Twin Cities. His long relationship with Northrop and the Walker Art Center has resulted in such legendary performances as "Last Supper at Uncle Tom's Cabin," in which, famously, nearly all the dancers ended up nude—including the benefactors of the new Cowles Center. A powerful, charismatic performer, Jones has been in residency at the Walker again recently, working on a new piece, "Story/Time," which will premiere next February. On Wednesday evening, Jones will conduct an open rehearsal and Q&A about the new work. A series of autobiographical one-minute stories, the piece boasts a John Cage-inspired structure. Meaning, chance is the primary operating principle through which music, lighting, movement, and meaning are brought together.
