$99 Sale

If you can still find an HP TouchPad on shelves, you'll discover that its price has been dramatically reduced to $99 after the announcement of its discontinuation a week ago. But hold on to your wallet; there's a better use for that cash. This Friday, that same amount will get you any work of art on the Soap Factory's walls. The $99 Sale on 9/9 (get it?) is a fundraiser featuring over 200 pieces by local artists. In a twist to level the playing field, all the works have the same dimensions (8"x10"), and the names of the artists will not be displayed with their respective pieces. Entrance tickets cost $30 and include free appetizers and a complimentary bar courtesy of Chowgirls Killer Catering, with music provided by DJ Black Lacquer. While any work can be bought for $99 on Friday, all remaining pieces will have their prices slashed to $66 on Saturday at the Morning After Sale. So keep a sharp eye for art, be ready to make a quick decision, and, most importantly, bring at least $99.
