24 Hour Film Race Screening

If you didn't have the cinematic chops to enter a film in this year's 24 Hour Film Race, you can still join in the fun by attending the screening. Pieces will be judged by a panel of Minneapolis's finest theater, film, and culturally astute personalities, including Garron Haubner (Le Cirque Rouge), Paul Moehring (25 Kino), Cyn Collins (2007 Minnesota Book Award finalist), and Ryan Strandjord (former 24 Hour Film Race producer). This whirlwind flick fest, originally called NYC Midnight Movie Making Madness, began in 2002. Over 2,000 short films have been made by its participants since then. As in past races, each team will be assigned the same theme: identity theft. While in other years teams were assigned one surprise element, this go-around all teams were given both a prop and an action to integrate into their films. These range in zaniness from a deck of cards to looking through a peephole. The slight change in the rules should add a few more twists and turns to the films.
