High fashion and ballet are a pairing as classic as cheese and wine, but can easily grow overwhelmingly pretentious if taken too seriously. Fortunately, this two-day benefit party will combine these entertaining things without any stuffiness. Friday's bigger bash begins in the lobby, where guests will be able to snack on food and cocktails and bid on silent auction items. Folks will then be ushered into the theater for a unique runway show fusing video, local fashions by Grethen House and Bluepeg, and theatrical performances. Afterward, guests will be able to shop for novelty items from local boutiques and artists while sipping drinks and mingling with performers. Proceeds benefit the Ballet of the Dolls. Saturday night's event is performance-only.
