From the folks who brought you Voltage: Fashion Amplified (another A-List event going on this week) comes the newest soon-to-be staple of fashion week: the MNFashion Shows. But don't let the name fool you; this event is anything but simple. Hyped as "the next frontier in MNFashion productions," Shows is a series of runway events featuring a selection of the area's top designers. No training wheels here; we're talking seasoned professionals who have developed their brand and are taking their businesses to the next level. Coasting off the success of last fall's Pale Rider—another example of MNFashion expanding beyond Voltage during fashion week—this back-to-back celebration is a step another toward building consistent happenings each spring and fall. Both evenings will include classically styled runway elements held in the inspirational MNFashion Atrium in the northeast Minneapolis's Grain Belt Brewery Building. Socially responsible, up-cycled designs by CounterCouture and naturally chic spring silhouettes by George Moskal will be featured on Wednesday, April 13, among a packed house of buyers and fashion fans alike. The next evening, knitwear mastermind Kevin Kramp and the always ingenious Emma Berg will take the stage and show collections that are sure to be the highlight of the week. If you like what you see on the runway, all four of designers will be hosting a trunk show in the MNFashion Studio on Saturday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
