What better way to ring in the spring than with a community-based event at the historic Grain Belt Bottling Building? Glitter Ball 4: A Night in Andy Warhol's Factory is a '60s-themed extravaganza that unites artists, musicians, and children in an interactive setting that includes painting, sculpture, screen printing, stenciling, and classic rock. Eight local artists, dubbed "The Factory Kids," will showcase Warhol-inspired art ranging from paintings to photography to a statue of Warhol cohort Edie Sedgwick. Additionally, the studio will include an open interactive area where guests can work alongside the Factory Kids to get a feel for the creative process from start to finish. Each artist will select a piece of their work to be sold to benefit the Youth Performance Company, an organization dedicated to providing a creative environment for children who wish to be involved in their community, and all ticket and beer and wine sales also go toward the group. Musical entertainment will be provided by Pictures of Then, Alicia Wiley, the Arms Akimbo, and Joey Ryan & the Inks. Tickets are available exclusively from Rock the Cause, visit www.irockthecause.org or call 612.207.6272.
