Sarah Vowell has an unmistakable voice. Don't let her dry cadence fool you when she speaks; she definitely has hilarious and interesting things to say. The voice of shy teen superhero Violet Parr in Pixar's The Incredibles, Vowell is also a contributing editor to This American Life, regularly has work published in McSweeney's, and is the author of six best-selling books. She is currently on a nationwide tour for her most recent work, Unfamiliar Fishes (Riverhead), which tells the story of how the once-independent nation of Hawaii came to be America's paradise. A humorist and historian, Vowell also is the board president for 826NYC in Brooklyn, the New York branch of the Dave Eggers-founded 826 Valencia, a nonprofit, volunteer-based youth program that offers free homework tutoring and writing help for children while encouraging creativity.
