"Women love me, couples love me. I'm a good couples comic," says Mike Lukas. The Cleveland native is finally a grownup, it seems. A few years ago he and his wife left Los Angeles to return to his hometown on the shores of Lake Erie, figuring it would be a better place to raise their baby. So far Mrs. Lukas (comedian/radio personality Gretchen Massey) has taken to her new city. "She actually likes Cleveland. Her mom was born here, and she has relatives here too." Lukas's mom and dad still live in the house in which he grew up in suburban Eastlake. When he first left the area, it was to go to college in Dayton, Ohio. "I thought for sure I was going to go into business, but then there was this little thing called the computer that was starting to get some attention, and I figured that maybe I should build my major around that. After I graduated I thought, 'This thing isn't going to go anywhere.'" Actually, he spent two years working for AT&T before asking himself, "Is this what I want to do for the rest of my life? No way." Today he still tours regularly, headlining clubs across the country, and talking about what he knows best. "It's a lot of relationship stuff. Having a wife and a baby—that's the comedic center of what I do." 18+.
