Visitations

Rebecca Krinke's haunting work is imbued with memory, trauma, and transformation. The human body is often her starting point and the focus of the meditative environments she creates, which travel from site to site. Her project last summer, Unseen/Seen: Mapping Joy and Pain, was a sculptural wood map of the Twin Cities she set up in various parks, to which visitors added color (gold where they have felt joy, gray for pain) to conjoin site and experience. Krinke's new project, Visitation, is a sculptural installation with performances by Anna Lawrence, Amy Krautbauer, and Paige Collette. The work opened last weekend at the Rosalux Gallery, but it will also take excursions to the Minnesota Zen Center, the Wabasha Street Caves, and the Como Zoo in evocation of the spiritual, the supernatural, and the power of nature.
