Little Eyes

Playwright Cory Hinkle brings his pinpoint view on modern society to the Guthrie Theater with Little Eyes, the latest production by the writer-driven Workhaus Collective. Hinkle, author of SadGrrl13and Cipher, and one of the authors on the 2010 Humana Festival work Fissures (lost and found), turns his attention to an everyday suburban cul-de-sac where something darker than soccer practice lies. Can our ordinary Americans prevail over the small-scale disasters that seem to have overtaken their lives? Those answers will have to wait until the show opens, but the cast is top-notch, with Sarah Agnew, Luverne Seifert (both in The 39 Steps), Maggie Chestovich (Life's a Dream), Braxton Baker (the young star of The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins), and Adam Whisner (Burn This!) leading the charge. Jeremy Wilhelm, who worked with Hinkle on the chatroom-inspired SadGrrl13, directs. (Photo by Kevin McLaughlin)
Wednesdays-Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sundays, 1 & 7 p.m. Starts: Feb. 4. Continues through Feb. 20, 2011
