Get Lucky

Time to get gussied up in your most fashion-forward and art-centric eveningwear; it's the Soo Visual Arts Center's annual gala, Get Lucky. This yearly event celebrates the nonprofit arts organization's impact on the Twin Cities' artistic climate. For nine years, the space has highlighted talented artists and inspired countless others with visually stunning works that capture the imagination and spirit of the gallery. Guests will be able to bid on pieces donated by a plethora of talented artists. The event's silent auction features a wide variety of artwork, from Greg Gossel's Lichtensteinian works to youthful, whimsical images by Jennifer Davis to cotton-candy nature-scapes by Joseph Rizzo. Watch the beauty of found art unfold before your eyes with the Guild-of-One installation and performance by Karl Unnasch, who will transform everyday knickknacks into sensationally re-contextualized treasures all night long. Writer and songwriter Jim Walsh will arrange the evening's music with an art-themed playlist to set the mood. Sponsored by local organizations, Get Lucky will offer refreshments provided by Twin Cities favorites Bryant-Lake Bowl and Chowgirls Killer Catering. Whether you want to buy a one-of-a-kind artwork, feast your eyes on the best in independent artistry, or mingle with local art enthusiasts, there's nowhere better to go than Get Lucky.
