Permalesque

Since opening last summer, CO Exhibitions has hosted a slew of gallery shows and events, including a holiday craft fair, art by and inspired by Doomtree, and a group show that paid homage to This Is Spinal Tap. Now the organizers of the space are planning to highlight another fun and prolific group in town: themselves. For "Permalesque," the gallery will showcase the work of the two dynamic design groups housed in the building. Over the years the desingers of Burlesque of North America have created gig posters for bands like Arcade Fire and the Melvins, they've had their hand in hot dance nights and parties like Bomp! and Dre Day, and have created packaging and illustrations for local record labels and musicians. Members of the Permanent design group were involved in last summer's art/music party on a boat, Slow Mirror and the Metronome, among other events. Curators state that guests should expect a sensory overload, as videos, design work, prints, and other pieces will be on display, demonstrating the best talents of both organizations. Music will be provided by Marijuana Death Squads and Andrew Broder.
