"What am I thinking?" Bil Dwyer says during a recent phone interview with City Pages. "I've got to make this an interesting interview, don't I? I've got to give you something sweet to talk about, huh?" Dwyer is known not only as a standup comic, but a game show host as well. He's even done some acting. "Over-acting really," he says of his stint on Cartoon Network's Out of Jimmy's Head. Football fans will recognize him as the host of the "Tiny Football League" Toyota commercials shown during NBC's Sunday Night Football. "It's funny, people think I work for NBC," he laughs. "I don't think Dan Patrick likes people thinking that, but if people want to think I'm employed by NBC that's fine with me." His standup set features very little sports humor. "It's a lot of questions that crop up in life," he explains. "Like when I'm in a hotel and I call down for a wake up call, and they say, 'Sure we've got a wake up call for you, what is your room number?' I give them my actual room number, and then think, 'I didn't realize I had that kind of power.' So I call back and say, 'Yeah I need a 3 a.m. wake up call. I'm in room, I dunno, 324. And I'll be really mad when you call. Call back in 10 minutes for my snooze alarm call.'" 18+.
