As many of us know, drinking while texting, emailing, college paper writing, dialing, sports playing, and snow-shoveling are usually bad ideas. However, if the popularity of the 331 Drinking Spelling Bee is any indicator, drunk spelling is golden. The entrance fee is a mere $6, but those without a bionic liver (or at least an intriguingly high tolerance) need not apply: For every successful spelling round, entrants must consume a beer. So if you're the type who drops big, five-syllable words in your drunken Livejournal rants, now is your chance to really shine (and to get buzzed for really, really cheap). Most evenings include bizarre theme rounds (you may be asked to spell in other languages, like Pig Latin for example), and for drunks who slur a mistake there are usually chances to drink your way back into the game.
