VEGA New Year's Eve

Can you think of a better way to ring in 2011 than with Minneapolis-based hip-hop artist Brother Ali? The folks behind Vega New Year's Eve, presented by 89.3 the Current and Metro magazine, are betting you can't. Join Barb Abney as she hosts the event to benefit the music programs at Brother Ali's old school, Robbinsdale Cooper High School. Featuring great local talent including More Than Lights and Dada Trash Collage, Chicago production duo the Hood Internet, and DJ Snuggles with a sweet late-night VIP set, this New Year's Eve bash won't be duplicated in the Twin Cities. Vega Productions and Rhymesayers have joined together in combining amazing music with civic engagement. This event celebrates the significance of the local hip-hop scene, building strong relations within the community while having a blast. The Marriott City Center will also be giving a discounted hotel rate plus New Year's brunch for event-goers who plan on staying overnight. And for a little extra, guests can enjoy the luxuries of the VIP room while they party the night away. Proceeds benefit music programs at Robbinsdale Cooper High School. 18+. 18+.
