The First Annual Alison Scott Escape from Your Weird Family Holiday Show

Alison Scott is a busy gal, what with working on the latest Minnesota Beatle Project and selling out the Dakota, but she's still got time to host her first holiday show at the Varsity just before Christmas. The night promises a bunch of her friends in attendance and onstage, including her guitarist/producer Kevin Bowe with the Okemah Prophets, St. Paul Americana musician Molly Maher, Shiny Lights (who are releasing a new CD), and spoken-word artist Desdamona. Scott is promising at least a few seasonal tunes from each performer, and a whole lot of collaboration between them all. Of course, her soulful voice and her own collection of blues, jazz, R&B, and pop tunes is enough to fill the space on its own, but this is a holiday spectacular with myriad genres represented. Bonus: Scott has been intimating that a live version of the Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows" (which she sang with the Meat Puppets), is not out of the question. 18+.
