It’s a Wonderful Life Movie Party

Become a part of the holiday classic It's a Wonderful Life at the annual film screening hosted by the Fitzgerald Theater. The Frank Capra film follows George Bailey as he embarks on a journey to discover just how much he means to the people around him with the help of a novice angel and a touch of holiday magic. Full of laughs, tears, and heaps of charm, this old Hollywood gem will inspire even the most frost-bitten hearts to spread a little warmth and compassion. Sponsored by Minnesota Public Radio, the family matinee will project the film onto the silver screen in all its original glory, with a live big band dance troupe recreating and expanding upon the hilarious and toe-tapping dance scene in the gym. The MPR classical music staff will also join carolers onstage for the film's iconic grand finale. Stephanie Curtis, MPR's Movie Maven, will host the event after a pre-show performance from Mike Grandchamp and the Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Organ. With complimentary popcorn and free bells for all the children who want to spot the angels in the film, this event has all the makings of becoming a wintertime family tradition.
