While most artists paint in a studio, or perhaps even out in nature, these are not the only settings where one can create art. A select few actually venture out and birth masterpieces before audiences' eyes at rock shows, night clubs, and parties. Rogue Citizen belongs in this category. Over the past year the art collective—made up of Shawn Dalsen, Eric Mattheis, Matt McGorry, and Matt Wells—have created a mural at Shuga Records, collaborated with Chuck U, and been the highlight of many parties around town. For their show at Never Mind Gallery, the artists are exhibiting solo works. Topics of pieces include politics, hip hop, exploitation, and gaming consoles. The tone varies as well, shifting from melancholy to humorous to cynical to euphoric. This Friday will be your last chance to check out "Never Mind Rogue Citizen" at the closing party from 6 to 10 p.m., where you can enjoy live painting from the crew, as well as live music from Ostraka.
