It's a diagnosis that no one likes to hear, and to hear it twice is simply unimaginable. But that is exactly what happened to husband and wife Terry Chance and Krista Langberg, who were both diagnosed with cancer over the last two years. Langberg is well known in the dance community; she spent the bulk of the '80s and '90s performing for the Zenon Dance Company and the New Dance Ensemble Laboratory, later moving on to work in New York City, then returning to Minnesota to raise her two daughters with Chance. To help raise funds for the family, the Southern Theater is hosting a daylong benefit party sure to be fun. During the day there will be loads of family-friendly activities, from kiddie cooking workshops, to film screenings, to gourmet eats, to musical performances from Adam Levy and friends from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The 8 p.m. evening concert will feature performances from friends, including members of Zenon, Hijack, Mad King Thomas, Morgan Thorson, Mathew Janczeski, and others, plus a film screening of work by Phil Harder.
