Get ready for Minnesota's coolest fusion of traditional garments and chic modernism. This Sunday, the Varsity Theater plays host to the Fresh Traditions IV Fashion Show. True to its name, the event combines customary Hmong clothing with a splash of haute couture. The Center for Hmong Arts and Talents sponsors the event, which is taking place at one of Dinkytown's most popular venues. The Twin Cities-based organization presents arts-related opportunities to Hmong Americans in search of creative outlets and experiences. Now in its fourth year, Fresh Traditions boasts the talent of Hmong designers including Chong Moua, Seelia Vachon, Khamphian Vang, Xee Vang, Nonmala Xiong, and Lylena Yang. Last year's stylish event featured incredible displays of vibrant colors, structured silhouettes, and high fashion. The upcoming Fresh Traditions promises as much excitement as previous years' with an amazing lineup of collections to show off to the public. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Center for Hmong Arts and Talents. For more information and tickets, visit freshtraditionsfashion.com. 18+.
