Tonight We Abide: The 3rd Annual Big Lebowski Halloween Party

Halloween is a dark time, darker than a black steer's tookus on a moonless prairie night. Fortunately, the Achievers over at the Bryant-Lake Bowl are taking 'er easy for all us sinners with the third annual costume party celebrating the Coen Brothers' cult phenomenon, The Big Lebowski. DJ Christian Fritz will spin tunes from the Coens' film catalogue—definitely nothing from the Eagles—in addition to a screening of the movie at midnight in the theater, karaoke, and $3 Flat Earth taps for those without the necessary means for the necessary means for full-priced brew. Plus, there will be prizes and $2 bowling for everyone in Lebowski-themed attire, so put on the right costume for your time and place, the one that fits right in there: the Dude, Maude, Walter, or Jackie Treehorn, who treats objects like women. There will be an additional free screening of the movie at 3 p.m. on Sunday. The party starts at 9 p.m. on Saturday and runs until closing time.
Sat., Oct. 30, noon; Sun., Oct. 31, 3 p.m., 2010
