MNFashion Week: Crosswalk Fashion Show

If you're tired of runway looks that are impossible to pull off on the mean streets of Minneapolis, you won't have any gripes about the Crosswalk Fashion Show. Masquerading as a fun shopping experience, the show begins inside Cliché. Models will parade collections by local designers Tender Cuts, Kathryn V, and Nikki English. But soon thereafter, the event takes a turn and abruptly moves past the crowds and onto the streets, attempting to cause a stir at the crosswalks of 24th Street and Lyndale Avenue in the Wedge neighborhood. It's at this point that rubbernecking drivers, high-fashion models, and pseudo-paparazzi turn the intersection into a spontaneous spectacle. This isn't Cliché's first crosswalk rodeo; they pulled together a street fashion runway earlier this summer as a quirky, interactive spin on traditional fashion shows. Admission is free and during the event all merchandise is 10 percent off. Complimentary wine and cheese will be provided.
Thu., Sept. 23, 7-10 p.m., 2010
