Few people have served the dance community in so many crucial ways as Jeff Bartlett has over three decades: as a beloved lighting designer who made area dances even more wonderful than they already were, as founder and artistic director of the Southern Theater, and most recently as the Dance Community Liaison at the new Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts. Now the dance community is sponsoring a fundraiser for Jeff, who was gravely injured when he fell while focusing lights. This sampling of area dance includes highlights from ARENA Dances, Ballet of the Dolls, Ethnic Dance Theatre, Flying Foot Forum, Jawaahir Dance Company, Katha Dance Theatre, and Shapiro & Smith Dance. It's a great way to wet your dance whistle for autumn and aid a real dance supporter. A reception follows the performances, and an opportunity for additional donations will be available in the lobby.
