City Pages Comics Issue #4

IT'S BEEN FOUR years since our first comics issue. In that time, our relationship with the local community of independent comic artists has grown ever more entwined. This year we decided to take it a step further, officially partnering with the Minneapolis Indie Xpo. MIX will be running an independent comics show on Saturday, August 21, at the Soap Factory, featuring many of the creators featured in this issue. For this year’s theme, we decided to celebrate what it means to be independent. As the alternative arts and news weekly of the Twin Cities, it’s a subject dear to our heart.
