The second-to-last installment of 4 Nights in Loring (the second of which was postponed until August 31 due to inclement weather) showcases the fuzzed-out, lo-fi rock of Red Pens and the locally written and produced independent film Nobody. Red Pens rose to prominence in the Twin Cities last year when they dominated our Picked to Click poll, garnering almost twice as many votes as any other act in our best-new-band poll. The duo, made up of guitarist and songwriter Howard Hamilton III and drummer Laura Bennett, have become a staple of the local indie rock scene, gigging continuously over the past year and polishing their stage show into a luminescent and rare stone. Following Red Pens' performance will be a screening of Nobody, Rob Perez's locally filmed tale of an art student searching for inspiration. As with all of our 4 Nights in Loring events, after the film the party will move indoors to Nick and Eddie for an afterparty, featuring a performance by bombastic and bluesy rockabilly-punk band the Goondas.
