George Throrogood & the Destroyers

When a friend of mine discovered George Thorogood and his ferocious takes on vintage rock and blues nuggets, probably round about 1982's Bad To The Bone, he went crazy, tracked down everything the band had ever recorded, and declared each one in succession the greatest album of all time. Thorogood's stuff certainly was addictive, and it still is lo these many eons later. In exactly the same way. Which is probably what you want from what's essentially one of the greatest bar bands of all time. Thorogood's a wicked slide player, and he and his adeptly named Destroyers attack everything with an adrenaline rush that's thoroughly contagious. So if you need a dose of Elmore James, John Lee Hooker, Hound Dog Taylor, or Chuck Berry, and the original is otherwise engaged, you could do a lot worse than move it on over and get Thorogoodly destroyed. And you're guaranteed to have a whole lotta fun in the process.
