Shane Mauss

Shane Mauss is a busy man. It's been a little less than a year since his last weeklong run at Acme, and in that time he's debuted his first half-hour Comedy Central Presents special; released his CD, Jokes to Make My Parents Proud (Comedy Central Records); toured Australia for a month; and appeared on the new season of Last Comic Standing. His current Acme stint has even been shortened by a day so he can make an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. But, Mauss says, "I wish I was busier." That sentiment might sound silly coming from just about anybody but Mauss, who is a true comedy phenom. After cultivating dreams of standup success for years during his childhood in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, filling pages with joke ideas, he moved to Boston to make his debut, and in less than three years took top honors at HBO's U.S. Comedy Arts Festival and taped a set for Late Night with Conan O'Brien. He's a master joke writer, able to reinvigorate even the most familiar topics with his indelible comic sensibility, as distinctive and exciting as any young performer in the business. Expect him to be busy for a long time to come. 18+.
