This is not your grandmother's craft fair. Now in its third go-round, the Caffetto Arts & Crafts Fair brings together the finest and quirkiest local artists, peddling all manner of handmade wares. From art prints to zines and everything in between (including bike accessories, feminist apparel, and adorably weird little clay monsters), both passersby and seasoned crafters alike can find something to appreciate and take home when more than 40 artists' booths take over the parking lot and sidewalk adjacent to the cozy and charming coffee joint. The standard craft fair ambience of stale mall corridors filled with Muzak will be turned on its head as local bands offer their audible art to fairgoers. This year's contributors include Black Audience, Gabe Barnett and the Big House Jug Band, Jesse Roberts, and Kenwood Slim and His Fairly Reliable Backup Band, among unannounced others. There will also be food and drink. After all, what's a coffee shop fair without coffee shop fare? It's free just to look, so consider stopping in during your Sunday-afternoon bike ride through the neighborhood. With dozens of vendors to sift through, chances are it'll be worth your while.
