Aficionados of Canadian television will no doubt recognize Jon Dore (no kin to America's Jimmy Dore) from his many stints up north on the small screen. From co-hosting a daytime talk show, aptly named Daytime, to being a correspondent on Canadian Idol, Dore is winning fans in the States with his quick wit and surprise punchlines. He has his own Comedy Central Presents special, and you may have also caught his guest spot on How I Met Your Mother. Now he's taking his act to the people. Trekking across America shouldn't be a problem for Dore, though, as he recently returned from a trip to Europe. "I went to Amsterdam," he says. "People are like, 'Oh, I know what you got up to.' Well, besides the obvious things guys do in Amsterdam, we also got really high and got prostitutes. It's not all museums, you know." That joke is indicative of Dore's expect-the-unexpected style, reminiscent of British humor. "You can't argue, thanks to the internet," he tells an audience. "I was at a party last week and friends were arguing about whether a certain movie had won an Academy Award or not. The argument went on forever. Finally, I just went up to my buddy's computer and started watching pornography. Problem solved!" 18+.
