Jessi Campbell may be the first Arizona native to ever hope to buy a winter home in Minnesota. "The people are so nice, and it gets cold. I love snow! I would love to have a snowmobile—but you know what I can't afford right now? A snowmobile." Campbell was a favorite on the local scene for several years before recently leaving the Twin Cities for career opportunities in L.A., although she's not quite settled into her new city yet. "I lived in Minnesota for four years and I still don't know my way around," she says. She's a high-energy storyteller whose act is accessible but distinctive, and a prolific, self-deprecating joke writer who can mix it up with any audience. Campbell has toured clubs, colleges, and military bases across the country; won the People's Choice Award at the 2009 Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival; and later this summer will release her debut album, Winner, Winner (Rooftop). She's also contributing comic to Life and Style magazine, wherein, she explains, "They send me pictures of celebrities and I make witty little comments. I was super psyched to slam all these celebrities. I'm maybe too excited." 18+; 21+ later shows.
