This Thursday is a day off for the World Cup. Fear not: there is still soccer to be had in cinematic form. In lieu of the games, Brit’s Pub in downtown Minneapolis will be screening soccer flick The Damned United (2009). Based on a bestselling novel by David Peace, the movie follows a fictionalized account of Brian Clough’s tumultuous time as manager of Leeds United during the 1970s.
