Ten Second Film Festival

The films submitted for this event are definitely not epic. Nor are they high-budget. But they are still awesome, nonetheless. Each year DIY filmmakers submit 10-second films recorded using laptops, camera phones, and iPods to be screened after the Red, White, and Boom! fireworks. The results range from cute to touching to bizarre to downright confusing. Past clips have included pet hamsters, busted toenails, and perhaps the shortest noir flick ever. This year's party starts at 8 p.m. with beer for sale and live music from Private Dancer, followed by a screening of the top 100 films. MplsTV's Kevin Albertson will emcee, with the Current's Barb Abney judging winners based on the roars from the crowd. New categories this year include Hangin' Out, Wildlife, and Mindless Violence.
