More About

Advance notice for The Mystery of Irma Vep promises that the duo of Bradley Greenwald and Steven Epp will take on eight characters and 85 costume changes in this camp tribute to Victorian melodrama. The story concerns an Egyptian princess who is brought back to life when her tomb is opened after centuries (kind of like that Sunday-morning feeling); what follows includes a werewolf, a vampire, and probably several dozen notable moments of advanced silliness. Greenwald and Epp are both capable of being devastatingly funny onstage; Joel Sass, who has a known predilection for the ornately off-kilter and hilarious, abets. While we appreciate a demanding night out at the theater, with full guns of the intellect and soul brought to bear, we also sometimes just like to have a good time. Here's a good chance. Oh, and Irma Vep is an anagram. Discuss. (Photo by Ann Marsden)
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 & 7:30 p.m.; Tuesdays-Thursdays, 7:30 p.m. Starts: June 18. Continues through Aug. 1, 2010
