Bike Art V

With the Twin Cities being an especially bike-friendly town, it's no wonder that we have a little bit of a fetish for two wheels. Throughout the year residents can attend all sorts of bicycle-themed events, including film fests, art shows, parades, beer festivals, protests, and even politician-led downtown tours. At Altered Esthetics's latest group show, local artists will call upon their muse to capture the essence of commuter, social, and athletic cyclist experiences with photography, screen print, installations, paintings, and more. "Bike Art V" will also feature a variety of special events. The opening reception from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. this Friday, June 4, will include a solar-powered musical performance from the Eclectic Ensemble. There will also be an artists' panel talk at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19, and a bikini bike wash later in the day from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Pictured:Bicycle, Oh Bicycle by Emily Bulen)
